What It Is…

The 7-Step Emotional Odyssey is an Online and Retreat Based Mental Training Course developed by Pamala, Informal Educator.

The Emotional Odyssey is an ideal way for educators, female entrepreneurs, and mothers who home school and any other woman who wants to receive the kind of affordable mental training many are seeking, but few know where to find.

 OVERVIEW

Women and Mental Health: Emotions are a natural and instinctive state of mind. What happens when they become distorted? Growing up, females are socialized that submissiveness is more attractive in relationships than assertiveness.

As a result, girls learn to listen rather that lead. This causes us to suppress our own unique thoughts and thereby belittle ourselves. The result is an unhealthy relationship with the self.

Under these circumstances, we women come to resent our own thoughts and ideas. This leads to more feelings of inadequacy. Given these points, it becomes impossible for women to express a full womanhood.

During the Emotional Journey you and I will explore the mind and body connection to reveal how unexpressed feelings get trapped in the body. In other words, your body keeps a physical memory of all your experiences. You have many memories stored in your brain that you can describe at any given moment.

In an instant, you can recall names, faces, and where the event took place. But over time, these memories fade or change. However, even when the memory begins to fade from your brain, it lives on in your body in the form of physical sensations and behavior patterns. The body does not forget.

To put it differently, the experiences of our lives leave physiological marks in our bodies, particularly when we experience pain or situations of extreme stress that cause the body to struggle, escape, or become immobilized and unable to cope.

The Emotional Odyssey is a process that will bring to the surface your suppressed emotions where they can be healed and released. This healing is about releasing those emotions that cause you to suffer.

An important practice that will aid you in your Emotional Journey is a Journal. You can purchase or make one. Use it to reflect at the end of each session.

 This Project is part autobiographical and part Buddhist Psychology. I am not trying to convert you to my philosophy, and you do not have to be a Buddhist to gain from the wisdom of Buddhist Psychology.

There are two aspects to the Mind that this Project will present. The first is the universal realm of being, and secondly, the Mind/body. Both are vital parts of who we are. To know these multilevel dimensions is to be happy and free.

The first state of being is the mind/body. Your body keeps a physical memory of all your experiences. You have lots of memories stored in your brain that you can describe at any given moment. You can recall names, faces, where the event took place, what it smelled like. But over time, these memories fade or change as we grow older. However, even when the memory begins to fade from your brain, it lives on in your body in the form of physical sensations and behavior patterns. The body does not forget.

To put it differently, the experiences of our lives leave physiological marks in our bodies, particularly when we experience pain or situations of extreme stress that cause the body to struggle, escape, or become immobilized and unable to cope.

The second aspect of mind is the universal perspective. From this perspective all things are born, and they will die. The end comes to our best friends and our parents, sometimes to our children. Death reminds us that all things on earth are transitory and tentative, appearing out of emptiness and then disappearing.

What it Includes…

The Emotional Odyssey take users sequentially through: Mindfulness Practices, Creative Visualization, and Meditation; One Module each of Female Archetypes, and Feminine Essence Practices, and lastly Self-Awareness Training.

How Progress through the Course…

An important practice that will aid your Inner Transformation is the creation of an Emotions  Journal. You can purchase or make one. Use it to reflect at the end of each Module.

Three Daily Practices of the Emotional Journey Module

Three daily practices are part of the Emotional Journey Module. They will help you get in touch with the deeper aspect of the self. Do them, at least, three to four times per week.

The Body Intelligence, First thing in the morning, you may want to take fifteen minutes of solitude. Take time to tune into The Body’s Intelligence. This may sound like a lot. However, you are worth the time take it and be with yourself. During these fifteen minutes take off your shoes, loosen your belt, clench, hold and release your muscles. You can do this in the morning or at night. While you are clenching and releasing your muscles say to yourself; what do I need to realize about my current situation? Listen to the answer. It is coming from a deeper place that knows.

The next thing for you to do is take the time to write first thing in the morning. They are called, “Morning Pages.” It is exactly three pages of writing. Just write, no editing. Again, just let this writing come from a deeper part of you that knows. Strange this may come up. Do not judge, just accept whatever comes up. It may bring you clarity.

The last thing for you to do is the “Walk for Clarity”. Take a walk-in nature for about thirty minutes. As you walk, pay attention to your internal dialogue. As you become more accustomed to walking, you will begin to get in touch with your true nature. This is the time to commune with nature and the place inside yourself.  Honor and love the wisdom in your life.

The Seven Steps are as follow:

Module I  Powerful Presence

Finding Your Place in the World- The essential truth of life is, we each have boundless potential and power to affect change in our lives and the world. There is a bigger vision of benefiting others, which will reduce self-importance. Life then becomes simple and straightforward.

Module II  Acknowledge the Feminine Aspect of Life.

It will bring balance and wholeness to the self as you discover a new source of power. This power is flexibility and clarity amid chaos.

Module III  Nonfeasance is the failure to act that is part of one’s responsibility and the consequence of not fulfilling your purpose in life.

Module IV  Bring and Awareness to the present through Mindfulness.

Real power is experienced in the present. Mindfulness allows you to connect with the wisdom and compassion of your higher self for better understanding and healing.

Module V  Creative Visualization is the process of finding your Inner Guide for support and guidance.

Module VI  Evolve Beyond Suffering and enter a time of healing, healing that is more about letting go of those things that cause you to suffer.

Module VII  Align with the eternal and universal truth. Awaken to the “Law of Life” that simultaneously permeates the universe and the individual self, experience wisdom, compassion, and courage.

Introduction:

I have created this Emotional Journey Module for the Womyn who wants to transform fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

In my search for meaning and purpose I discovered a P.A.N.A.C.E.A. for the problem’s we women face. We women all face similar challenges in the world. We want our voices to be heard and to be seen and appreciated for the value we bring to the world. These Modules can help you wake from the dream of creating a life-time of suffering.

I am not a therapist. These Modules do not take the place of therapy. My pre-disposition is understanding the mind and how repressed emotions manifest in the body. Use these Modules to move away from identification with the body and create an identify with your true self, which you will discover as you progress through the course.

“Put your Finger on the Pulse and Feel the Beat.” The Rhythm of Life. It is a challenge; I will help you hold the hand of the child within. For that child, anything is possible.
